Laser Therapy

Laser Therapy is an FDA cleared modality that reduces inflammation and ultimately results in pain reduction. Laser Therapy is effective in treating acute pain, chronic conditions and post-op pain by using specific wavelengths of light. Light energy enters the damaged cells and utilizes your body’s own healing powers by stimulating cellular activity. This reduces pain in the area and speeds recovery of the damaged cells. Once the cells recover, the healing process is complete. The swelling is greatly reduced and there is a rapid relief of pain.

Physiological Effects of Laser Therapy can include:

  • Bio-stimulation, including improve metabolism & increased cell metabolism
  • Improved blood circulation and vasodilation
  • Analgesic effect
  • Anti-inflammatory and anti-edematous effects

Generally, the more chronic or severe the condition, the longer it takes to respond. The majority of conditions treated will take anywhere from 4-6 or 10-12 treatments. Once again, the number of treatments depends upon the severity of the condition and its duration. You should notice a difference after 1-2 treatments but it may take 4-6 sessions before a dramatic or marked change is perceived.

According to published medical reports, many acute and chronic conditions may be improved or eliminated with laser therapy including:
  • Tendon and ligament
  • Soft tissue injuries
  • Muscle strains and tears
  • Sore muscles and joints
  • Degenerative joint conditions
  • Neurological pain
  • Musculoskeletal disorders
  • Anti-inflammation applications
